Emergency Support Staff (ESS):

On-call/Non-Exempt/$14.00-$16.00 DOE (+) $1/per hr. differential for graveyard shifts/Job#02-ESS

Provide adequate and appropriate supervision and care for the child placed in the emergency shelter care program. Assess the child(ren) for immediate needs, including medical, food and clothing. Provide comfort to child(ren) and evaluate the child(ren) emotional state. Prepare the child(ren) for foster care, such as explaining what a foster home is based on the child(ren) age/cognitive ability. ESS staff will support child(ren)/youth who may have had previous adverse childhood experience and work to decrease traumatic aspects associated with detention process. Must have an Associate’s degree +4 years; Bachelor’s degree + 2 years working with at-risk youth in a residential or mental health setting, or Master’s degree in a mental health related field. Must be able to provide written verification of experience upon hire. Salary is based on experience & educational credentialing. Bilingual preferred, not required.
